Kevin Garnett invests in Triumph Esports
Big Ticket Sports adds emerging esports company to portfolio
Kevin Garnett, former NBA Most Valuable Player, 15 time All Star, and NBA World Champion has invested in Triumph Esports, a newly formed esports company. Garnett has invested in Triumph Esports via Big Ticket Sports LLC, his experiential event management and production company, which owns the Hoop It Up basketball and Kick It Soccer tours.
Triumph Esports is a full-service esports company which includes Rivalcade, a competitive esports and experiential event company, and Triumph Gaming, a professional esports team and player development organization.
“Our relationship with Triumph Esports is a natural fit as we look to showcase and elevate shared lifestyle experiences through competition, content, and live events,” said Garnett. “Our vision is to create unique experiences that impact our fans across a variety of passion points.”
Rivalcade has executed and streamed hundreds of esports competitions, both live and online, in a number of game titles, and has now partnered with Hoop-It-Up to bring esports to their events. Scott O’Leary, founder of Rivalcade, and CEO of Triumph Esports said, “We are very excited to work with Hoop-It-Up as they converge basketball, music, esports, and the urban lifestyle at their events. We look forward to working together to engage our fans and players in new, collaborative and creative ways.”
Triumph has quickly established itself as a premier esports organization, and in a short amount of time has proven its ability to identify top tier talent across multiple titles. Jake Laumann, founder of Triumph Gaming, and COO of Triumph Esports said, “Having a world-class competitor like Kevin as a partner validates and reinforces our dedication to creating a platform for players and staff to learn what it takes to play, compete, and perform at the highest level.“
Triumph has player rosters in Overwatch, Apex Legends, and Team Fight Tactics. Their Overwatch team has qualified for the Overwatch Contenders playoffs, which begins tonight at 6pm ET on the Overwatch Contenders Twitch channel. Their Apex Legends team will also be competing in EA’s Pre-Season Invitational in Krakow, Poland on September 13th-15th.
Rivalcade will be launching a series of online competitions this month as it looks to strengthen the communities of several top esports titles. For more information on Rivalcade tournaments visit: https://mogul.gg/hub/rivalcade/
